A Tight Course in D.F.W.
Located on the edge of the two hours from Waco, is Plantation Golf Course, in Frisco, Texas. This course is a great location to test your skills and have a great time. The fee is about 40$ which makes it a pretty cheap course, something that the courses I play usually have in common.
The carts are in good shape and some of them even have speakers and coolers on them. The workers are super kind and they even give the golfer a discount sometimes. The range is in great shape but for a golfer like me with an occasional snap hook, it can be dangerous as to the left on the range is a major road.
Getting into the actual course, the golfer is first met with a very tight par four. it's not very long but it is very narrow. The tee boxes are in great shape and most of them have a ball cleaner and some water. The fairways are generally also in great shape and the rough isn't too bad. This course features many bunkers, requiring the golfer to hit high lofted and precise shots, or lay up in certain situations.
The course looks very similar through the front nine. Every hole winds through a neighborhood causing all shots to be tight and risky. I've played here many times and seen people have to give their information to home owners due to broken windows and other things broken in the back yard. The easy thing about this course is most of the holes are very straight.
The image displays how well maintained the course is. The greens are green and well mowed and the fairway is as well. They are also clearly watered often, and there is also lots of water on the course, challenging the golfer.
The course faces a few cons in some areas. First of all it is maybe too tight. The golfer can never truly let loose and try to hit a bomb of a drive or three wood, as if it is not dead straight, it's out of bounds always. Second this place is super crowded, as it is one of the more reasonably priced golf courses in the area. Last but not least, there is a lot of dead spots on this course. Anywhere that is not in the fairway has a very high chance of being on a dead spot, this being just hard dirt.
Overall, I love this course and would recommend it to any golfer that doesn't struggle with hitting a straight balls. A 6/10 is a fair score for this place, as it is in good condition, but overall just a fairly mid course that gets the job done.
